Hollywood Today: John Wells to Receive Star on Walk of Fame


Also: The Critics Choice Movie Awards to be held at the Palladium; House of Blues concert to benefit the family of late composer John O'Brien.
 John Wells, who wrote and produced such acclaimed television series as ER and The West Wing, will receive the 2,457th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
George Clooney, who spent five seasons onER before devoting himself full-time to his movie career, and Allison Janney, a cast member onThe West Wing throughout its seven-season run, will join Wells in speaking at the ceremony in front of the Hudson Apartments at 6533 Hollywood Blvd.
The honor comes five days before the season premiere of the Wells-produced police dramaSouthland on TNT. Wells' other current series, the Showtime drama Shameless, began its second season Sunday.
