Dashing opener Virender Sehwag said on Tuesday that the Indian cricket team is praying for a speedy recovery of star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who is currently in US for the treatment of a malignant tumour between his lungs.
"I have heard that Yuvraj is taking chemotherapy. We are hoping he would be fine and fit when he comes back. We all are praying for him," Sehwag said.
Sehwag expressed confidence in full recovery of Yuvraj, who played a key role in India’s successful campaign in the 2011 ICC World Cup.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj is happy being in Boston in US and not in India as unwarranted and sentimental attention would have dampened his mood, the Times of India reported.
A source close to Yuvraj’s family said, "People come in for treatment and leave the hospital after a cup of coffee, smiling. It isn't like India where cancer is treated virtually like a death warrant."
