Stuart Lancaster sends 18 England players back to clubs for game time

Ben Morgan: sent back to Scarlets for the weekend
England's interim coach Stuart Lancaster, who is waiting to discover if lock Courtney Lawes has sustained a shin injury, could be facing even more problems after sending 18 of his squad back to play for their clubs this weekend.
England face France in Paris a week on Sunday, but rather than keep the majority of his players away from danger, Lancaster insists the 18 need game time but was not expecting to release any of the 15 players who started the 19-12 loss to Wales.
However, Scarlets have asked for No8 Ben Morgan to be sent back and as he does not play in England and is not governed by any agreements with the Premiership clubs, the interim coach had to agree.
Outside half Owen Farrell and wing Chris Ashton have both been hit by a sickness bug and could not train yesterday which makes the four day break the players have now been given very timely.
"Clearly there are selection decisions going into the game against France - and there are now 18 players going back to their clubs, so we might have some other selection decisions to make on the back of what happens this weekend," said Lancaster.
"We're not obliged to release any players back. From my point of view we want the boys to go back and play.
"In order to play international rugby you've got to be in form, you've got to be playing well and to do that you've got to be playing rugby. There are some massive games this weekend."
Lawes was sent for a scan yesterday and the results will be know later today.
