Narendra Modi, Omar concerned about Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh
Ahmedabad: Yuvraj Singh's illness has not only come as sad news to his fans and the scores of cricket-loving people but also hardline politicians.

According to reports, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sadness on Yuvi’s illness and said that he hoped that India's ace cricketer will again play for the country.

"Sad to hear about ill-health of Yuvraj Singh. He is a fighter and I am sure he'll come out of it very soon and play again for India," Modi wrote in his twitter account on Sunday.

However, Modi is not the only politician who has wished good health to the left-hand batting giant. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted: "Here's wishing Yuvraj Singh a speedy & complete recovery. On a good day there are few cricketers more exciting than him."

The 30-year-old Yuvraj, who played a stellar role in India's ODI World Cup triumph last year, has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy in Boston, US.

Adjudged Player of the Tournament in the World Cup last year, Yuvi has played 37 Tests and 274 One-day Internationals
