Gene Hackman Airlifted To Hospital

Gene Hackman Airlifted To Hospital
Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman was airlifted to hospital on Friday after he was hit by a car in the Florida Keys.
Despite rumours of serious head injuries, it has since been confirmed that the 81-year-old thankfully escaped with only a few bumps and bruises and is now on the mend.
"Gene was airlifted to the hospital for routine tests. Everything is fine and Gene is on his way home now," said his rep.
The actor was, unsurprisingly, placed within a special hospital room for high-profile patients so that doctors could keep a close eye on him. And, we imagine, ask him for a few autographs as well!
One of Hollywood's finest, Hackman is the proud owner of two Oscars, one of which he was awarded for his role as Jimmy Doyle in the 1971 and 1975 'French Connection' flicks. However, he confirmed in 2008 that he had retired from the acting world and was intending to focus on his writing career.
Gene was knocked of his bicycle from behind at around 3 p.m. EST Friday, and the Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
We're happy to see he's doing so well!
