Kate Middleton and Prince William are set to put their love of keeping fit to good use by running the London Mile for Sport Relief.
The Duke has taken part in previous years and organisers hope that the Duchess will join him for the 2012 event.
A source told The Mirror: “We are in talks with the Prince’s representatives and understand he is eager to support the event, as he has done previously. We’re hopeful Kate will be able to do it too.
“It’s a huge honour to have the support of the Royal Family for this event, which raises millions of pounds for people in poverty in both the UK and abroad. We hope hundreds of thousands of Brits will follow in their footsteps to run a Sport Relief mile somewhere in the country to raise cash.”
If Kate and Wills do sign up, they are likely to run down The Mall on March 25.
The Royal couple won’t require much training for the mile as they have been kept on their toes with the new addition to their family – a Labrador puppy Wills bought Kate for her 30th birthday.
According to reports, the Duke and Duchess have been spotted on numerous occasions near their home in North Wales, chasing after the bundle of fluff.
Perhaps Kate’s younger sister Pippa will also be persuaded to take part in the event.
The sporty party planner is a keen sportswoman, who last year travelled to Scotland to take part in the gruelling Highland Cross endurance event.
The 50 mile duathlon – a 20 mile run, followed by a 30 mile bike ride – is not for the faint hearted but sporty Miss M completed the race in an impressive 5 hours 8 minutes.
The mile would surely be walk in the park for pretty Pip!
Sport Relief events and the total raised will feature on the Sport Relief 2012 live show on BBC1 March 23.
