Ricky Gervais Ready to Rip Hollywood at Golden Globe Awards

Ricky Gervais appears to be ready to deliver even more caustic comments about Hollywood's elite this Sunday when he hosts the Golden Globe Awards ceremony for the third time. The New York Post reports Gervais, who caught Hollywood heat last year for his jokes about certain celebrities, tells the new issue of Esquire, “They’re the wealthiest, most privileged people in the world.  Offense is taken, not given.”
Charlie Sheen, Robert Downey Jr., Bruce Willis, Tim Allen and Sylvester Stallone were targets of the British comedian’s barbs.
Referring to last year’s ceremony, Gervais says, “Imagine if I had gone out there and said, ‘We’re all in the same gang.  Aren’t we brilliant?  Us millionaires together’...I’m not a wolf in sheep’s clothing.  I’m a wolf in wolf’s clothing.”
Gervais says he has zero regrets about razzing the A-listers, adding, “I stand by everything.  You can apologize for things you do when you’re 15, but not when you’re 50.”
He goes on to say, “I think Hollywood’s gotten more reactionary and conservative over the years, because there’s no longer art in Hollywood.”
The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony will air on NBC this Sunday, beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
