George Lucas slams Hollywood for refusing to support black films

Star Wars director George Lucas has blasted Hollywood for failing to support black films claiming his forthcoming movie Red Tails took 20 years to make because 'there's no major white roles in it at all'.

George Lucas had to fund Red Tails himself
The film-maker told The Daily Show that he had to self-fund the movie which he described as an 'all-black movie'.
Red Tails revolves around the true-life tale of African-American pilots who fought in World War II.
Lucas said: 'I showed it to all of them [film studios] and they said, "No. We don't know how to market a movie like this".
'They don't believe there's any foreign market for it, and that's 60% of their profit.'
He added: 'It's a reasonably expensive movie. Normally black movies, say Tyler Perry movies or something, they're very low budget. Even then, [the studios] won’t really release his movies, it goes to one of the lower, not major distributors.'
Lucas co-wrote and produced Red Tails, which features Cuba Gooding Jr, Terence Howard and R&B star Ne-Yo in the cast.
Anthony Hemingway directs the movie, which is released on January 20 in the US.
