-- The UFC on FX 1 fight card appears to be full, as featherweights Daniel Pineda and Pat Schilling have been signed to meet. UFC on FX 1 takes place January 20 from Nashville, Tennessee. The main event pits Melvin Guillard against Jim Miller. Both Pineda (15-7) and Schilling (5-0) will be making their UFC debuts. The Pineda-Schilling bout is slated for the FUEL TV-televised prelim card, which now boasts seven fights. It was also finalized that Jared Papazian (14-6) would be the replacement fighter for Ken Stone, as Papazian makes his UFC debut against Mike Easton on the main card.
-- Justin Edwards has a new opponent, as UFC officials have confirmed that Stephen Thompson will replace Mike Stumpf at UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit. Edwards-Thompson is slated for the prelim portion of the February 4 card from Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC 143's main event features Nick Diazand Carlos Condit meeting for the interim UFC welterweight title. Thompson went 57-0 as a kickboxer, including 40 knockouts. He is a training partner of Georges St-Pierre. Edwards, a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter, is 7-2 in his MMA career.
